In a recent Skypodcast episode, Slater Young and Kryz Uy discussed feeling stuck in a rut and offered advice to those facing similar challenges.

Slater shared that even after his success on Pinoy Big Brother (PBB), he experienced periods of stagnation.  He described a time in showbiz when he felt unmotivated and unfulfilled.

Kryz said, “I think a lot of people can relate to that. It’s that feeling of going through the motions, like a hamster on a wheel.”

The podcast emphasized taking calculated risks to break free from a rut. Slater advised transitioning gradually rather than making an utterly abrupt change.

“Don’t cut it yet,” he said. “Try to run it simultaneously until it gets too heavy.”  He used his experience leaving showbiz to pursue business ventures as an example.

Slater highlighted the power of small, consistent changes. He compared positive development to the concept of compound interest, where small gains build upon each other over time.

“It’s like a compass,” he explained. “You might only change direction by one degree at first, but over time, that one degree makes a big difference.”

The podcast concluded by emphasizing that even small steps are better than remaining stagnant. He encouraged listeners to embrace discomfort and try new things.

Saying yes to things you’re uncomfortable with can lead to new opportunities and habits, and they further explained that the worst thing you can do is keep doing the same thing and expect a different result.

The podcast’s message of calculated risk-taking and incremental progress offers valuable advice for anyone stuck in a rut.

Finally, they encouraged viewers to embrace discomfort.  “Our comfort zone often keeps us stagnant,” they said.

“Stepping outside of it, even for something small like meeting new people, can open doors to new opportunities and habits,” Kryz shared

The hosts leave listeners with a message of hope and encouragement to those feeling stuck, reminding them that by taking small, calculated steps and embracing discomfort, we can break free from routines and move towards a more fulfilling life.
