WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippines Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Intertropical Convergence Zone will affect Mindanao, increasing the chances of isolated rain showers during the afternoon and evening. 

The ITCZ may also be causing thunderstorms in Mindanao. There are currently no thunderstorm warnings that are being monitored. The majority of the country will be experiencing cloudy skies and rain showers from a low to a moderate level, with the coastal conditions being normal.

Cloudy skies with isolated rain showers will affect Metro Manila and the rest of the country. 

Northern Luzon area will expect thunderstorms in Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, and Quirino, which the local lightning will cause. 



The temperature in northern Luzon will average from 25°C to 37°C.

The National Capital Region will also have rain showers and thunderstorms with light to moderate levels. Winds from the southeast will prevail and become southwest in the afternoon. Temperatures will range from 25°C to 33°C. 

The Visayas and Mindanao, specifically Kalayaan Islands and Occidental Mindoro, will expect thunderstorms caused by the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms. There will be moderate winds from west to northwest with slight seas on Mindanao. As well as winds from southeast to southwest for Luzon and Visayas. The temperature in the area will be around 26°C to 32°C.

The whole country will be expecting rain from afternoon to evening, so there will be the following impacts on all the regions such as:

  • Flash Floods
  • Landslides
