CAGAYAN DE ORO, PHILIPPINES — Just in, two pastors involved in the alleged killing of Mr. Cagayan de Oro candidate Adriane Rovic Fornillos now arrested through the Warrant of Arrest issued by the Branch 39 Judge Marites Felomina B. Rana Bernales for the charge of murder.

Bishop Dimver Andales and Pastor Jether Nonot have been taken into custody and are now held at the Agora Lapasan Police Station, awaiting further legal proceedings. Their apprehensions came after a thorough trial, which resulted in their certainty of conviction in connection with the murder of Fornillos.

The murder, suspected to have been planned in advance, underwent a thorough examination by Mr. Fornillos’ legal counsel, Attorney Dale Bryan Mordeno. The collection of evidence against those accountable for Fornillos’ tragic demise extended several months.

Meanwhile, the victim’s family expresses relief upon the arrest of the suspects after anxiously waiting for justice, which took six months, stating that they feel better as justice finally rolled fairly for their side. 



On the other hand, Cagayan de Oro Police Officer (COCPO) Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Ivan Viñas has officially stated that the arrested suspects will be promptly brought before the court and subsequently relocated to Lumbia City jail as the legal proceedings advance. Currently, Andales and Nonot are under the custody of the Lapasan Police Station.

Adriane Rovic Fornillos, 24, was gunned down in Cagayan de Oro City on the evening of May 9 by an unidentified assailant. 

The victim was said to have come from the gym and was about to visit a friend’s house to practice for pageantry. The gunman then proceeded to shoot Fornillos in the head after taking off his helmet.

The rescue team tried to rush Fornillo to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC), but he was pronounced dead by the attending physician at around 12:30 a.m. on May 10 because of a severe brain injury due to a bullet wound.



Andales has been long suspected as the primary suspect of the said incident. Recently, the news about his relationship with the victim’s romantic partner circulated on the internet and was labeled as Crime of Passion by various netizens.
