PAGASA: Typhoon FALCON Spotted East of Northern Luzon

WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippines Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the center of the eye of Typhoon “FALCON” was estimated at 1,070 km East of Extreme Northern Luzon with a sustained wind of 150 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 185 km/h.

The data was confirmed at 3:00 AM today, and Typhoon FALCON is moving North Northwestward at 15 km/h. Southwest Monsoon is also affecting Luzon and Visayas. 

Weather Today – July 31, 2023

Zambales and Bataan will experience Monsoon rains caused by the Southwest Monsoon  and Typhoon FALCON impacting the area with flooding or landslides due to scattered to widespread heavy rains. 

Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, and Occidental Mindoro will have occasional rains but will have mostly normal weather. The weather conditions are caused by the Southwest Monsoon which may also cause possible flooding or landslides caused by heavy rains. 



There will be cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Bicol Region caused by the trough of Typhoon Falcon which may impact the area with possibility of flash floods or landslides from moderate to heavy rains. 

Southwest Monsoon and Localized thunderstorms will further affect Western Visayas and the rest of Luzon as well as the country with cloudy skies, scattered rain showers and thunderstorms causing flash floods or landslides due to moderate and at times heavy rains. 

Due to Typhoon Falcon, there will be strong winds across the country. Northern and Western sections of Luzon will have strong winds directing from Southwest to West with rough coastal water conditions. 

Visayas and the rest of Luzojn will have moderate to strong wind speeds directing Southwest with moderate to rough coastal water conditions.



Winds will be directing from South to Southwest at a strong speed in Mindanao with the coastal water conditions being rough. 

Extreme flood warning was advised by PAGASA. The areas that were advised of the warning are:

  • Pangasinan
  • La Union
  • Bataan
  • Zambales
