PAGASA: Listed Advisories Due to Typhoon EGAY

WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippines Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Typhoon EGAY, based on all available data, in the vicinity of Aparri, Cagayan, with maximum sustained winds of 175 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 240 km/h. It is moving Westward at 20km/h. 

Southwest Monsoon affecting Visayas, Mindanao, and western sections of Southern Luzon. The Southwest Monsoon is also enhanced due to the typhoon as it hovers over Luzon and causes strong winds causing people to take cautionary actions due to its severely strong winds. 

Weather Today – July 26, 2023

Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan, and Isabela will be affected heavily by Typhoon Egay causing the weather conditions to be stormy and affecting the areas with flooding or landslides due to its intense rains. There will also be significant to extreme threat to lives and properties due to its strong winds. 

Rains with gusty winds will be over Pangasinan and the rest of Cagayan Valley as Typhoon Egay affects the area with flooding and landslides due to the rain. There will also be minimal to minor threat to lives and properties due to the rain. 



Western Visayas, Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Zambales, and Bataan will have Monsoon Rains caused by Typhoon Egay and Southwest Monsoon causing flooding and landslides due to scattered to widespread rains. 

There will be occasional rains in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon also caused by the Typhoon Egay and Southwest Monsoon. Only effects of the weather will be flooding and landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.

Rest of Visayas and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms caused by Southwest Monsoon and experience flash floods or landslides.

PAGASA has advised Signal No.4 Tropical Cyclone Warning on Typhoon-force winds warning as property and lives wil be in danger due to the typhoons considerable amount of force that it is creating. 



The advised areas on Signal No.4 are: 

  • Cagayan
  • Apayao
  • Ilocos Norte

PAGASA has also advised a General Flood Advisory on extreme levels in certain areas that will have certainty of flooding due to the cylcone. 

The listed areas are:



  • Isabela
  • Cagayan
  • Quirino
  • Apayao
  • Ifugao
  • Benguet
  • Pangasinan 
  • La Union
