September is right around the corner, and there is quite an amount of holidays to take note of in the Philippines. This article will show you the list of September 2023 holidays to take note of.

Proclamation No. 90, signed by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., lists all of the year’s holidays. However, unlike other months, there are no listed regular holidays for September.

Instead, the Official Gazette of the Republic of the Philippines posts several special (non-working) holidays regarding the list of holidays in September 2023. So what are these holidays in September?

Is September 1, 2023, a holiday in the Philippines?

By Proclamation No. 301, September 1, 2023, will be deemed a special (non-working) day for the Province of Bukidnon, marking the celebration of its 109th Founding Anniversary.



As it states, “WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Bukidnon be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration.”

Proclamation No.314, which was signed on August 15, 2023, declares a special (non-working) day in the Municipality of Almeria, Province of Biliran.

Is September 5, 2023, a holiday in the Philippines?

Proclamation No. 320 was signed on August 18, 2023, declaring September 5, 2023, a special (non-working) day in the city of General Santos, Province of South Cotabato. The holiday is to celebrate the 25th Tuna Festival as the proclamation states, “WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of General Santos be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration.”

Is September 12, 2023, a holiday in the Philippines?

 Under Proclamation No. 390 President Marcos has approved the day as a special (non-working) day in the Municipality of Hingyon, Province of Ifugao.



Proclamation states, “WHEREAS, on September 12 2023, Tuesday, the Municipality of Hingyon, Province of Ifugao will mark the celebration of its Founding Anniversary” therefore giving the people of the area a special (non-working) day. 

Is September 18, 2023, a holiday in the Philippines?

September 18, 2023, is a special (non-working) day for two different places in the Philippines. Under Proclamation No. 310, it will be a special (non-working) day in the Municipality of Victoria, Province of Oriental Mindoro. The Proclamation states the province is having a holiday to celebrate its 70th Founding Anniversary.

Another special (non-working) day on September 18, 2023, is signed under Proclamation No. 311 for the Municipality of Bansalan, Province of Davao Del Sur in celebration of their 71st Founding Anniversary.



Is September 21, 2023, a holiday in the Philippines?

Signed on August 18, 2023, Proclamation No. 325 declares September 21, 2023 a special (non-working) day in the Municipality of San Mateo, Province of Rizal. As it states in the Proclamation, “WHEREAS, on September 21 2023, Thursday, the Municipality of San Mateo, Province of Rizal will mark the celebration of its 451st Founding Anniversary;”

“WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Municipality of San Mateo be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration;”

The Official Gazette of the Republic of the Philippines has announced the following information on their official Facebook account. 

Is September 29, 2023, a holiday in the Philippines?

September 29, 2023 will be declared a special (non-working) day by Proclamation No. 318 signed on August 15, 2023. 

The proclamation states, “WHEREAS, on September 30 2023, Saturday, the City of Masbate, Province of Masbate, will mark the celebration of its 23rd Cityhood Anniversary;”

“WHEREAS, to enable the people of the City of Masbate to fully participate in the occasion, the Office of the Mayor requested that September 29 2023, Friday, be declared as a special (non-working) day in lieu of September 30 2023 which falls on a Saturday.”
