CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, PHILIPPINES — The Kumbira 2022 Culinary Show and Live Competitions held last October 16-17, 2022, at the Limketkai Mall Atrium was a success.
COHARA (Cagayan de Oro Hotel and Restaurant Association) sponsored the event. Other government agencies such as the Department of Tourism, TESDA, Department of Trade and Industry, and the local government of Cagayan de Oro also supported the Kumbira 2022.
The Kumbira 2022 Culinary Show and Live Competitions is now in its 26th year. The event is held face-to-face for the first time after two years of the pandemic.
For its 26th year, COHARA presented Kumbira 2022 with the theme, “Showcasing the best local products, talents, and skills of Mindanao.”
The event aimed to showcase and display many local dishes, delicacies, cuisines, and products. All the items originate from Region 10, Region 9, Region 13, and other regions in Mindanao.
Kumbira 2022 had several activities and competitions. This includes basket floral buffet, pastry and dessert display, bread showpiece, kumbira bar master finals, cake master finals, brewmaster, and many more.
During the event, there were ten competitions.

- Artistic Bread Showpiece
- Basket Floral Buffet Table Centerpiece
- Lechon Manok Party Platter
- Flairtending and Del Monte Set Menu
Students and professionals from various organizations and schools in Cagayan de Oro and other places in Mindanao; Kidapawan, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Oriental, Iligan, Bukidnon, Agusan, and Zamboanga, participated in the individual and team competitions.
The competition awarded Gold Plus for those who got 100 points, Gold for 90-99 points, Silver for 80-89, Bronze for those who got 70-79, and Diploma for those who got 60-69.
