The Department of Health (DOH) urged the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to change several Covid-19 vaccine brands’ Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) so that they can be given as booster doses to children aged 12 to 17.

According to Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., the government has also been pushing for a fourth dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to be administered to specific areas.

“Hinihiling po namin sa inyo na kapag nag-open na ang ating fourth dose, at nag-open na rin ang booster sa 12 to 17 years old, magpabakuna tayo. Hangga’t maaga, magpabakuna na,” he stated in a statement.

(We ask that when our fourth dose opens, and the booster opens at 12 to 17 years old, get your shots. Let’s get vaccinated as early as possible.)

The vaccination program, which took place at malls, targets children aged 5 to 11 as well as tourists.

Galvez praised individuals who work persistently to support in the country’s pandemic response efforts, particularly the vaccination program, in honor of “Araw ng Kagitingan” (Day of Valor).

66,609,892 Filipinos have received their full vaccination, while 12,443,226 have received booster or additional doses. – WhatALife!
