PAGASA: 2 LPAs spotted inside PAR

WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), there are currently two Low-Pressure Areas (LPA) being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan continues to affect Northern Luzon.

The weather agency reports two LPAs inside PAR at the moment. One LPA is spotted 290 km east of Maasin City, Southern Leyte, and the other is currently 125 km west-northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

DOST-PAGASA Weather Specialist Obet Badrina assures the public that both have low chances of becoming tropical storms. In fact, they may disperse or leave the PAR soon.

On the other hand, the Northeast Monsoon continues to bring light rain showers to areas in Northern Luzon, such as Batanes, Cordillera, and Cagayan Province.

The Bicol Region and Quezon Province are forecast to have cloudy skies due to the LPA near Southern Leyte. The rest of the country may expect fair weather conditions with the occasional rain showers and thunderstorms.

For today’s weather forecast, the Bicol Region and Quezon Province are forecast to experience thunderstorms brought by the trough or extension of the Low-Pressure Area. Meanwhile, Cagayan, Batanes, and Apayao may expect rainshowers due to the Northeast Monsoon.

The rest of Luzon, including Palawan, is forecast to have fair weather with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

Eastern Visayas, including the Samar Provinces, may expect isolated rain showers and thunderstorms. The rest of Visayas is forecast to have fair weather conditions.
