PAGASA: Cloud clusters outside PAR being monitored

weather update december 7 2022

WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), no Low-Pressure Area (LPA) has been spotted inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). However, cloud clusters near PAR are currently being monitored by the weather agency in case it affects the weather condition of the country.

According to DOST-PAGASA Weather Forecaster Grace Castañeda, the shear line continues to affect the northern portion of Luzon, bringing cloudy skies and rain.

No LPA has been spotted, which results in fair weather conditions for the rest of the country. At the moment, the weather agency is monitoring the cloud clusters near the southeast of the PAR line in case of circulations that may bring rains over Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

WEATHER TODAY – DECEMBER 7, 2022

For today’s weather forecast, Cagayan is forecast to experience heavy rains due to the shear line. On the other hand, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may experience fair weather for the rest of the day with chances of isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms. Temperatures may rise up to 30 to 33 degrees Celcius and as low as 23 to 26 degrees Celcius.

Visayas and Mindanao are forecast to have partly cloud to cloudy skies and chances of rain, with temperatures rising up to 30 to 33 degrees Celcius and as low as 24 to 26 degrees Celcius. Residents are advised to be aware of advisories provided by PAGASA Regional Offices.

A gale warning is still being issued to Batanes, Cagayan, including the Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan.
