The first trailer for the film adaptation of the Broadway play, “Cats” is out and the internet seems horrified!
Originally based on T.S. Eliot’s book Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, the film adaptation helmed by Tom Hooper, Oscar-winning director of the King’s Speech, with a star-studded cast including Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, James Corden. Other popular stars such as Judi Dench, Rebel Wilson, Steven McRae, Ian Mckellen, Jason Derulo, and Idris Elba are also featured in the film.
Taylor Swift, a known cat lover, took to her twitter sharing to her fans the trailer.

However, the live-action quickly gained criticism from viewers as it left the majority in distress and unhappy. The transmogrified CGI human-cat hybrids were described as “cursed” and nightmarish. Fans also did not like the way their faves looked.
Here are some of their reactions:

folks, if you think the Cats trailer is a nightmare, you probably shouldn’t look up what the actual musical is like

The CATS trailer clearly loves itself and doesn’t give a fuck if you’re on its wavelength. Weirdly, it’s very much like a real cat.
