MANILA, PHILIPPINES — On Tuesday, February 28, the former 2NE1 member Sandara Park went on Twitter and shared she was working on a new album.
The 38-year-old singer revealed that the concept for her upcoming album will be “Sandara Park.”
In the following tweet, Sandara said that it was too early to talk about the album, but she is thrilled to discuss all about it soon, telling the fans to keep cool for now.
Sandara Park’s label, ABYSS Company, has yet to reveal details or teaser photos of the album.
This will be Sandara’s first solo album since she debuted as a member of the iconic K-pop girl group 2NE1, which was launched in 2009 and has been disbanded in 2016.
Back then, 2NE1 was known for breaking typical stereotypes of k-pop, music, fashion, and stage performance. They are recognized for popularizing the “girl crush” concept in K-pop.
All about Sandara Park
Sandara Park is a South Korean singer, actress, and model who is best known for being a member of the K-pop girl group 2NE1.
She also goes by the names Dara and Sandy. She was born on November 12, 1984, in Pusan, South Korea, but her family moved to the Philippines when she was 10 years old to start a trading business.
In 2004, Sandara rose to fame after competing in the Philippine reality talent search program “Star Circle Quest,” finishing in second place behind Hero Angeles. The show launched her career as a model and actress in the Philippines.
After returning to Korea with her family in 2007, Sandara signed with a Korean agency and debuted with 2NE1.
She also branched out into acting in Korea, with notable roles in “The Return of Iljimae” (2009), “Dr. Ian” (2015), and the web drama “We Broke Up” (2015). –WhatALife!/Charles
