PAGASA: Northeast Monsoon in extreme Northern Luzon, Easterlies prevail across the country

WhatALife! PAGASA Weather Updates

WEATHER UPDATE – According to PAGASA, the country will experience predominantly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and light rains. However, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers are expected in certain areas today, March 22 (Friday).

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be experienced across Mindanao, specifically in  Caraga, Davao Oriental, and Davao de Oro, which are affected by the Easterlies with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

Batanes will encounter cloudy skies with light rains caused by the Northeast Monsoon with no significant impact.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will encounter partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. The Easterlies impact these areas, and there are possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Furthermore, PAGASA’s wind and coastal water conditions show that the country’s northern and eastern sections will experience East to Southeast winds, causing moderate to rough coastal water conditions (2.5 to 3.7 meters).

While most areas can expect isolated rain showers, PAGASA advised residents in regions under the Easterlies’ influence, particularly Mindanao, to be especially vigilant for potential flash floods or landslides.

Following PAGASA’s advisories and remaining updated on the latest weather developments is crucial. Those residing near coastal areas in the north and east of the country should also exercise caution due to the expected moderate-to-rough sea conditions.
