Kim Jones confirmed separation with actor Jericho Rosales on Monday, January 29, after nearly a decade of being together.
Kim disclosed the information to GMA source and was also confirmed by Ricco Ocampo, a trusted friend of the former couple who served as one of the godfathers at their wedding.
According to an ABS-CBN report, Ricco Ocampo disclosed that the couple parted ways in 2019, and the decision was both “mutual” and “amicable.” Hence, they remain friends despite the separation.
“While the friendship between the two remains, they have decided it is time to lead separate lives. They are encouraging each other to grow, albeit in different directions. It was a mutual decision, an amicable separation, dealt with grace and maturity by both parties,” Ricco was quoted as saying.
“The two are filled with gratitude for the memories they’ve made together and the lessons they’ve learned. They have journeyed through the separation with the utmost respect and care toward one another precisely because Echo and Kim are the best of friends and love each other like family,” he added.
“This split is not borne out of ill feelings. On the contrary, one might say that it is a demonstration of their affection and respect, as Echo and Kim only wish the best for each other,” he also said.
“They are incredibly grateful for those who have supported them throughout the years, and appreciate the respect of their privacy during this time,” the godfather said.
Ricco mentioned that the duo is collaborating on a new movie, where Kim Jones takes on the roles of writer, director, and actor, while Jericho Rosales serves as the producer.
Rumors and discussions about Jericho Rosales and Kim Jones going their separate ways have been circulating for a considerable period.
Speculation regarding the couple’s potential breakup surfaced last year as observant individuals noticed a lack of shared photos on their social media accounts.
Despite ongoing rumors about a potential separation, both individuals chose not to divulge any details. In May 2014, Rosales and Jones exchanged their vows at a Boracay resort.
