According to PAGASA, the country will experience cloudy skies with rains due to the northeast monsoon today, January 30 (Tuesday).

The weather bureau forecasts cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Caraga, Davao Region, Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, and Southern Leyte according to its 4:00 a.m. bulletin. PAGASA states that this weather event may cause possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

Cloudy skies with light rains are expected in Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, and the rest of Eastern Visayas. This weather condition is not expected to cause an impact in these areas.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are also expected in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Visayas. However, this condition is not expected to significantly impact these areas.

The rest of Mindanao will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Trough of LPA / Localized Thunderstorms.

Furthermore, the risk of flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms will continue to persist across the archipelago.

Meanwhile, PAGASA’s Wind and Coastal Water forecast shows that Southern Luzon, Visayas, and the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao will experience strong northeast to east winds, causing rough coastal water conditions (2.8 to 4.0 meters).

Northern Luzon will experience moderate to strong northeast to east winds, leading to moderate to rough coastal waters (1.2 to 3.4 meters).

The rest of the country will experience moderate to strong northeast to north winds, leading to moderate to rough coastal waters (1.2 to 3.4 meters).
