Jason Abalos and Vickie Rushton are now husband and wife!
MANILA CITY, PHILIPPINES — On Thursday, September 1, actor-turned-politician Jason Abalos and beauty queen Vickie Rushton married.
In a church ceremony, the couple exchanged vows. After the ceremony, Vickie wore a lavish ballgown with terno sleeves. In contrast, Jason was seen donning an embroidered barong, according to a snapshot published by the photography firm Nice Print Photo.
Actors Joross Gamboa and Marco Alcaraz, friends from the entertainment industry, also posted images and videos from the wedding on Instagram.
While Vickie walked down the aisle, her groom (Jason Abalos) couldn’t help but cry. The couple who exchanged their first kiss as Mr. and Mrs. Abalos were also captured on Instagram stories by Alcaraz.

The journey of the long-term couple
Jason Abalos became well known as he portrayed the lead role in “Two Wives” with Erich Gonzales and Kaye Abad in 2014.
And in the 2022 election, Abalos became Provincial Board Member of Nueva Ecija’s 2nd District. Abalos is entering Philippine politics for the first time, and he is doing it with an open mind while learning everything he can about public service.
Meanwhile, Vickie Marie Rushton joined ‘Pinoy Big Brother (PBB): All in,’ in 2014, where she finished 4th Big Placer.
In 2018, Rushton joined Binibining Pilipinas, where she finished 1st-runner-up (Catriona Gray won Miss Universe Philippines 2018 and became Miss Universe 2018). In 2019, she joined again, but the stars didn’t align for her, and she placed as a Top 15 semi-finalist.
After a ten-year relationship, Jason and Vickie confirmed in June that they had been engaged since September last year.
