GOT7’s Jinyoung and Yugyeom has earlier been reported to sign with other agencies after their contract with JYP entertainment expires this month.
According to a K-pop news site, members of the South Korean boy band GOT7 are set to leave JYP Entertainment, the K-pop company that formed and managed the group for the past seven years.
In its report, Soompi cited a story from Korean news outlet Dispatch saying that GOT7’s appearance at the 35th Golden Disc Awards this weekend would be its last activity as a group.
“The GOT7 members are very close. They agreed to stay together, but they disagreed on the choice of their agency. After multiple discussions with the company, they decided to part ways,” a K-pop industry source said, as quoted in the Soompi report.
The contracts of the septet are set to expire this month. Various reports said the members are in talks to sign with other entertainment agencies.
As previously reported by other outlets, Jinyoung finished his final discussions to sign with the actor agency BH Entertainment. At the same time, Yugyeom held his final meetings with the higher-ups at AOMG.
Meanwhile, Youngjae was reportedly scouted by Sublime Artist Agency, which houses Song Kang Ho, Rain, EXID’s Hani, and more. JB has reportedly received offers from a famous hip hop label and a global music label and is planning to find a place that will support him as a solo artist.
Dispatch also reported that Jackson will continue his global activities through his own label Team Wang, and he will carry out his activities in Korea through a separate agency. BamBam, on the other hand, will reportedly balance his activities in Thailand and Korea. For his activities in Korea, he will receive the help of a content production agency, and he is reportedly in talks to sign a contract with MakeUs Entertainment.
Moreover, Dispatch said Mark will return to his hometown of Los Angeles to spend time with his family, after which he will open a YouTube channel and work on solo music.
An acquaintance close to GOT7 shared with Dispatch, “The members care a lot about GOT7. Though they will each promote separately, they agreed to make time when GOT7 reunites.”
In response, a JYP Entertainment source said it cannot confirm which agencies the GOT7 members are in contact with, according to Soompi.
“We will inform you once our position regarding GOT7’s contract renewal is ready,” the company said.
Following the news, the GOT7 members posted a group photo on their Instagram accounts with the caption “#GOT7FOREVER.”
Mark also posted the photo on Twitter, assuring fans that “Nothing is coming to an end, just the beginning.”

GOT7—composed of JB, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, Bambam, and Yugyeom—debuted in 2014 under JYP Entertainment, one of the leading companies in South Korea’s idol music scene.
In late November, the septet released its first studio album, “Breath of Love: Last Piece,” with the title track “Last Piece.”
The group visited Manila last October 2019 as part of its “Keep Spinning World Tour.”
