Fifty CiSS (Children in Street Situations) play games with CSWD

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, PHILIPPINES — Fifty CiSS (Children in Street Situations) and street families had fun during the first ‘Pakikipagtalastasan sa mga CiSS kasama ang kanilang Pamilya (Connecting with CiSS and their family),’ August 30, at the Pueblo A Sus Heroes (Andres Bonifacio) Memorial Park in this city.

One of them is Jalilah Saripada, a parking attendant for more than 10 years who was helped by City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWD) to get a house in the relocation site in Sitio Pamalihi, Barangay Pagatpat and Sitio Pahiron, Barangay Lumbia.

The CiSS were entertained with games like ‘Trip to Jerusalem,’ Longest line, and more.

CSWD Executive Overseer Pastor Dimver Andales also gave his message centering on the role of parents in raising their children for a bright future.



Ang CSWD andam kanunay magsuporta ug magtabang sa mga nanginahanglan aron kamo mahaw-as sa kalisdanan. Mga ginikanan, giyahan nato ang atong mga kabataan para sa maayong kaugmaon,” said Pastor Andales.

(The CSWD is always ready to support and help those in need and will free you from hardship. Parents, let’s guide our children for a better future.)

The event is an initiative of the CSWD through Oro Response and Processing Section (ORPS).

Acting CSWD Officer Anecia Tongson, CSWD Asst. Department Head Nida Paña, CSWD Community and Social Development Division Head Joan Acraman, CSWD ORPS Head Dhada Sarip, former captain Bebe Lao and others were in attendance.



Members of 4Ps in Brgy. Tuburan trains with FICCO

Around 82 members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Barangay Tuburan were successfully given orientation about ‘social security & insurance’ by the local government through the Community Improvement Division, together with the First Community Cooperative (FICCO), City Social Welfare & Development and DSWD-10 on August 31.

The event’s goal was to educate and guide the members of the 4Ps to learn to ‘save and invest through a cooperative like FICCO.

Attending the activity was City Administrator Atty. Roy Hilario Raagas who represented Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy. Meanwhile, Captain Roy Yañez said he is grateful that his members have been trained in ‘social security & insurance.’ – WhatALife!/Zed
