TUGUEGARAO, PHILIPPINES — A Cessna plane went missing on Tuesday afternoon after taking off from Laoag City en route to Tuguegarao airport.

The information was confirmed by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines and the Office of Civil Defense.

The Cessna 152, with a body number of PC-8598, was supposedly expected to land at Tuguegarao airport at 12:30 p.m. but authorities believe that the plane was forced to make an emergency landing in the nearby provinces of Apayao, Abra, or Kalinga.

There were two aircraft that were on route to Tuguegarao, but only one had arrived at 1:11 p.m.

The aircraft was apparently monitored 32 nautical miles from Alcala, Cagayan, according to the Cagayan Provincial Information Office.

Rogelio Sending Jr., Cagayan Provincial Information Officer, stated that the people who boarded the aircraft were Capt. Edzel John Lumbao Tabuzo, the pilot, and Anshum Rajkumar Konde, an Indian nationality student pilot who was brought with him.

Echo Air International Aviation Academy Inc., the owner of the presumably lost aircraft, has not yet issued any statements regarding the matter.

The pilot was not reachable by cell phone or radio. The search will be continued on Wednesday for the pilot. – WhatALife!/Zain
