Cagayan de Oro City has started the new year with more than a million doses of various vaccine brands administered to its residents against COVID-19 infections.
The City Health Insurance Office (CHIO) reported Monday that 1,001,384 doses had been inoculated as of January 2, 2022, of which 440,339 were for second doses and 15,275 for booster shots.
With this, the city has now surpassed the minimum 70 percent population protection requirement, standing at 82.01 percent or 425,259 inoculations.
According to the data released by the Department of Health Region 10, at least 518,518 must be vaccinated in the city to achieve population protection.
