MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Actor-politician Arjo Atayde and actress Maine Mendoza embrace tradition as the Atayde family meet with the Mendoza family for “pamamanhikan.”
Actress Sylvia Sanches shared the photos of the “pamamanhikan” on Sunday, June 25.
“The Ataydes & Mendozas will soon merge as one family,” Sanchez said.
The photos were taken at Maine’s garage, where the two families gathered together to pose for photos.
After three years of dating, Arjo proposed to Maine on July 29, 2022.
The “pamamanhikan,” which means to climb or ascend, is a traditional Filipino practice where the man, accompanied by his parents, formally asks the bride’s family for approval.
