PAGASA: ITCZ affecting Visayas and Mindanao, Shear line affecting Luzon

weather update november 10 2022

WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the shear line is affecting the eastern section of the country, specifically on the island of Batanes. Meanwhile, the ITCZ (Intertropical Convergence Zone) is affecting Mindanao, Visayas, Palawan, and some provinces of Bicol.

In the Bicol region, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. People in the area are warned of the threat of flash floods or landslides.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country have a possibility of sudden rainshowers due to Localized Thunderstorms. These rains often do not last long, only lasting 30 minutes up to two (2) hours.

At the moment, no Low-Pressure Area (LPA) is being monitored by the weather agency.

Sa kasalukuyan, wala rin tayong mino-monitor o binabantayang Low-Pressure Area o sama ng panahon na maaaring makaapekto sa anumang bahagi ng ating bansa,” said PAGASA Weather Forecaster Daniel James Villamil.

(Currently, we are not monitoring any Low-Pressure Area or bad weather that may affect any part of our country.)

The PAR (Philippine Area of Responsibility) will be clear in the next two days, and the chances of a tropical storm will possibly remain low until the weekend.
