PAGASA: Bagyong Rosal weakens to LPA

WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Bagyong Rosal has weakened to a Low-Pressure Area (LPA) and is spotted 1,020km East of Extreme Northern Luzon. At the moment, no LPA is currently being monitored by the weather agency.

PAGASA confirms Bagyong Rosal, formerly of Tropical Storm category, has weakened into an LPA. Today, the country may expect fair weather with chances of isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

The weather agency also reports no LPA inside and nearby the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). However, at least two LPAs may still arrive within December.

The only weather system affecting the country today is the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) located over Northern Luzon.



WEATHER TODAY – DECEMBER 13, 2022

For today’s weather forecast, Batanes and Cagayan have high chances of rain. Meanwhile, Ilocos Region and Cordillera are forecast to experience moderate rains due to the Northeast Monsoon. 

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may experience fair weather for the rest of the day, with chances of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures in Luzon range from 21 degrees Celcius to 32 degrees Celcius.

Areas in Visayas are forecast to have fair weather with chances of isolated rainshowers. Temperatures range from 25 degrees Celcius to 32 degrees Celcius.

Meanwhile, major parts of Mindanao may experience isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms for the rest of the day. Temperatures range from 24 degrees Celcius to 33 degrees Celcius. 



The weather agency continues to issue a gale warning to areas in Northern Luzon due to the Amihan, with waves reaching from 2.8 meters to 5 meters. Said areas are as follows: Batanes, Cagayan (including the Babuyan Islands), Isabela, Aurora, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan.
