USTP, CMU among top schools in Mechanical Engineering Board Exam

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, PHILIPPINES — USTP (University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines) and CMU (Central Mindanao University) are among the top-performing schools in the August 2022 Mechanical Engineering Board Examination.

The PRC (Professional Regulation Commission) announced the top-performing schools six days after the exam ended. The official results included the list of passers, top examinees, the performance of schools, oath-taking schedule, and registration requirements, among other important announcements.

CMU was ranked in third place with 40 out of 46 examinees passed, and a passing percentage of 86.96 percent.

Meanwhile, USTP was placed fourth with 35 out of 42 examinees passing the board, gaining a passing percentage of 83.33 percent.



Below is PRC’s official list of top performing schools for the August 2022 Mechanical Engineering Board Exam:

  1. Batangas State University – Alangilan, 94.19 percent (227 passers out of 241)
  2. De La Salle University – Manila, 89.58 percent (43 passers out of 48)
  3. Central Mindanao University, 86.96 percent (40 passers out of 46)
  4. Mindanao University of Science and Technology – CDO, 83.33 percent (35 passers out of 42)

Top 10 Board Passers – August 2022 Mechanical Engineering Licensure Exam

The August 2022 Mechanical Engineering Board Exam saw over 5,880 examinees from different parts of the country including Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Legazpi, Lucena, Rosales, Tacloban and Zamboanga.

Out of the more than 5,000 examinees, 3,184 passed. The top 10 examinees are as follows:

  1. Franz Joshua Geronimo Pingol, 95.35 percent (Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Main Sta. Mesa)
  2. Jasper Berlon Mijares, 94.40 percent (Rizal Technological University)
    Francis Gregory Lao Ng, 94.40 percent (De La Salle University – Manila)
  3. Ian Harvey Rama Mendoza, 93.95 (Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Main Sta. Mesa)
  4. Brian Ray De Jesus Minerva, 95.70 percent (Central Philippine University)
  5. Rocky Mendoza De Peralta, 93.65 percent (Lyceum of the Philippines University – Batangas, INC)
  6. Anthony Obal Malindong, 93.55 percent (Batangas State University – Alangilan)
  7. Mc Rowee Valencia Macatangay, 93.40 percent (Negros Oriental State University (CVPC) – Dumaguete)
  8. Jasper Espinoza Prisco, 93.00 percent (Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Main Sta. Mesa)
  9. John Limuel Bueno Agillon, 92.90 percent (Batangas State University – Alangilan)
  10. Dawson Jay Parro Flores, 92.30 percent (Camarines Norte State College – Daet)
