Tots Carlos led the Creamline Cool Smashers to a triumphant victory over the Akari Chargers in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference.

Carlos, a three-time PVL MVP, showcased her offensive prowess by erupting for a career-high 31 points in a thrilling four-set match.

The Creamline Cool Smashers secured the win with sets of 25-22, 21-25, 25-22, and 25-19 at the PhilSports Arena on Thursday night.

The defending champions leaned heavily on Carlos, who reset her professional career high of 28 points from a match against the Petro Gazz Angels in 2022.

Additionally, she surpassed her previous league high of 29 points, achieved as part of the Motolite Power Builders in a five-set showdown against Banko Perlas Spikers during the 2019 PVL Open Conference.

Carlos, who delivered 30 attacks and an ace, played a pivotal role in the decisive fourth set, sealing the victory for Creamline and maintaining their perfect record with a 2-0 standing.

The Cool Smashers’ winning streak now extends to an impressive 17 games, dating back to the Second All-Filipino Conference in December.

Creamline head coach Sherwin Meneses expressed satisfaction with the team’s overall performance, emphasizing the importance of readiness in various situations on the court.

Supporting Carlos, Jema Galanza contributed a double-double effort with 15 points and 14 excellent receptions, while Alyssa Valdez and Jeanette Panaga added eight and seven markers, respectively.

Bea de Leon and Denden Lazaro-Revilla also made impactful team debuts, finishing with five points and 11 excellent receptions.

Kyle Negrito orchestrated Creamline’s offense with 18 excellent sets, leading the team to dominate Akari with a 65-47 spiking differential.

Despite a commendable effort from Fifi Sharma and Dindin Santiago-Manabat, who scored 14 and 13 points, the Akari Chargers fell short and now hold a 0-2 record.

Creamline looks to extend its unbeaten run against the Galeries Tower Highrisers on March 7, Thursday, at 4 p.m., while Akari aims for a comeback against the Farm Fresh Foxies on March 5, Tuesday, at 6 p.m. Both matches will take place at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
