Viva, Pit Senor! Viva Senor Santo Nino! The renowned Cebuano religious celebration Fiesta Señor returns this 2023.

CEBU CITY, PHILIPPINES — Today, November 15, 2022, the Augustinian Friars of the Basilica del Sto Niño de Cebu have announced the return of in-person fiesta activities for the 458th Fiesta Señor, Sinulog 2023.

Press Statement for the 458th Fiesta Señor

The announcement of the schedule of activities for the 458th Fiesta Señor follows the press statement of the Augustinian Friars announcing the return of fiesta events “after two years of hiatus from all public religious activities.”

For the 458th Fiesta Señor, the theme is “Sto. Niño: Our Source of Peace in the Walk of Faith.”

“Santo Niño is truly our source of joy and peace! He is truly with us amidst the challenges and difficulties that we face,” the statement read.

It added a reminder to devotees to adhere to protocols during the celebrations: “As we resume all our religious activities this forthcoming Fiesta Senor, we appeal to all devotees, pilgrims, and guests to adhere to all protocols which are being implemented for a safe, orderly, and solemn conduct of our religious celebration. Let us be mindful, quoting from the solemn blessing of the Sto. Niño Mass that ‘a good Christian makes a better citizen.’”
