Relic of St. Padre Pio to arrive in Cagayan de Oro on February 8

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, PHILIPPINES — According to Rev. Fr. Roberto C. Balsamo Jr., SSJV., the relics of Padre Pio will arrive in Cagayan de Oro City this February. A schedule of the reliquary image visit has also been released.

The Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro has announced that the Sto. Padre Pio Reliquary Image visit to Cagayan de Oro City will commence on February 8 to 9, 2023.

February 8, 2023, Wednesday



  • 4:30 AM – Assembly time at San Agustin Cathedral, Cagayan de Oro City to those who will escort the reliquary image from Iligan to Cagayan de Oro City. 
  • 5:00 AM – Depart Cagayan de Oro for Santuario de Sta. Filomena at the Benedictine Monastery of St. Anne, Iligan City | Expected Time of Arrival (ETA) in Iligan is 6:30 AM. 
  • 8:00 AM – Depart Iligan City for St. Francis Xavier Parish, Initao, Misamis Oriental | ETA in Initao is 8:45 AM 
  • 9:15 AM – Holy Mass at the St. Francis Xavier Parish, Initao to be followed by veneration of the reliquary image 
  • 11:30 PM – Depart Initao for the Archdiocesan Shrine of the Divine Mercy, El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental | ETA in El Salvador is 2:00 PM 
  • 1:00 PM – Holy Mass at the Divine Mercy Shrine to be followed by veneration of the reliquary image 
  • 3:30 PM – Depart El Salvador for Saint Augustine Metropolitan Cathedral | ETA is 5:00 PM 
  • 5:30 PM – Holy Mass at the Saint Augustine Metropolitan Cathedral with Archbishop Emeritus Antonio J. Ledesma, SJ, DD as presider to be followed by veneration of the reliquary image the whole night 

February 9, 2023, Thursday 

  • 6:00 AM – Holy Mass at the Saint Augustine Metropolitan Cathedral to be followed by veneration of the reliquary image 
  • 12:00 NN – Holy Mass at the Saint Augustine Metropolitan Cathedral to be followed by veneration of the reliquary image 
  • 1:00 PM – Depart Saint Augustine Metropolitan Cathedral for Our Lady of Manaoag Chapel, Limketkai Center ETA at 2:00 PM | Public veneration begins upon arrival 
  • 5:00 PM – Holy Mass at Our Lady of Manaoag Chapel with Archbishop Jose A. Cabantan, DD as presider 
  • 6:30 PM – Depart Our Lady of Manaoag Chapel for Cagayan de Oro Port, Macabalan 
  • 7:45 PM – Depart Cagayan de Oro Port for Cebu City
