WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippines Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the Southwest Monsoon will affect Central and Southern Luzon, including the Visayas. 

Areas will be experiencing cloudy skies, rain showers, and thunderstorms, having impacts that will affect the well-being of people. Coastal waters will be in normal conditions as winds from Southwest to South affect Luzon and Visayas, while winds from South to Southwest affect Mindanao.

Weather Today – June 29, 2023

Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and Pangasinan will experience cloudy skies with rain and thunderstorms. A few days ago, the weather was caused by LPA and ITCZ; the weather today is caused by the Southwest monsoon causing possible flash floods or landslides due to the heavy rains that the areas will be experiencing. 

The rest of the country will also experience cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms also caused by the Southwest monsoon and thunderstorms from other surrounding areas coming into effect. Possible flash floods or landslides will impact areas during severe thunderstorms.



With days of thunderstorms and heavy rain, PAGASA has issued flood advisories in several areas, such as: 

  • Cavite
  • Quezon
  • Laguna
  • Rizal
  • Batangas
  • Mindoro
  • Palawan
  • Apayao
  • Abra
  • Benguet
  • Kalinga
  • Ifugao
  • Mountain province
  • Ilocos
  • Pangasinan
  • La Union

PAGASA has also issued flood-threatening areas:

  • Zambales
  • Bataan
  • Aurora
