MANILA, Philippines – Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), gives food packs to chosen motorists in line to its “Tickets or Treats” program on Monday.

It was around 8:00 in the morning when the MMDA started their program where they distributed almost 300 pieces of Noche Buena packages to motorists who obey traffic laws.

Several MMDA officials including MMDA Chair Romando Artes, MMDA Assistant General Manager for Operations Assistant Secretary David Angelo Vargas, TDO Director for Enforcement Atty. Vic Nuñez, and Special Operations Group OIC Gabriel Go attended the said program.

According to David Vargas, motorists caught violating traffic laws are given citation tickets while grocery items are given to obedient motorists.

Ito ay pagbibigay balik sa mga motorista natin na mga sumusunod sa batas trapiko. Ito ay simpleng programa ng MMDA para sa Paskong ito,” he said.

Over 1000 gift packs were distributed by the MMDA to chosen motorists starting on Monday and would probably end on December 22.

MMDA also advised the public to plan their trip carefully because it is expected that the flow of traffic will continue to be heavy especially on Friday when there are many people leaving the provinces and traveling to celebrate holidays.

MMDA along with other agencies are scheduled to inspect the terminals to ensure that the buses and the drivers are in good condition.

Meanwhile, due to expected heavy traffic in Metro Manila this coming holiday, 2400 MMDA personnel will be deployed in the said area.
