Xavier University unfolds Masterson Campus site
In a Youtube video posted early this month, Xavier University reveals a glimpse of the site where the Masterson campus is set to be established.
Xavier University announced its expansion in a 21-hectare Masterson Campus 2 years ago which symbolizes their readiness for the future, as Xavier celebrates its centennial year in 2033.
The project was named the “Campus of the Future,” featuring spacious surroundings, green spaces, expansive roads, designated bike lanes, comprehensive wireless connectivity across the entire campus, and versatile learning facilities designed to support both virtual and in-person classes, promoting a healthy environment.
After a thorough process of stakeholder consultations, dialogues, and careful consideration of pros and cons, the Vatican has officially granted its approval for XU’s “Campus of the Future” project in 2021.
“The Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, having attentively examined the documents submitted, grants the request in conformity with the petition,” written in the Letter of Approval from the Vatican.
The integration of the Masterson Campus with the neighboring Manresa Town, to be constructed by Cebu Landmasters, will be seamless. This 14.3-hectare mixed-use university town will offer abundant open spaces, providing Xavier Ateneo students with convenient and secure residential choices, as well as easy access to commercial facilities and modern office spaces for the future.
Spanning 21 hectares, the Campus of the Future will be complemented by an additional 25 hectares of adjacent forested regions, including protected forests and animal sanctuaries.
“We envision an academically stronger university in this new campus – one that will facilitate learning in the New Normal and at the same time, produce men and women for others that can make relevant contributions to Mindanao,” Fr. Mars P. Tan SJ, President of Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan said.
The project aims to transform Xavier Ateneo into a socially impactful and inclusive educational institution, concentrating on enhancing its various colleges and schools, including Agriculture, Arts & Sciences, Business & Management, Computer Studies, Education, Engineering, Nursing, and Medicine.
The University Town concept establishes significant connections that will enhance the mutual advantages of both Xavier Ateneo and the neighboring uptown Kagay-an communities.
