MANILA, Philippines – Veteran actress Maricel Soriano joins with actor Roderick Paulate to star in a family drama film ‘In His Mother’s Eyes’.

She leaves behind her son who has autism in the care of his brother Bibs (Roderick Paulate).

The film delves into the challenges Lucy may encounter as a mother in the modern world. She struggles balancing her career and parental duties, while providing for his son’s condition.

Meanwhile, During the grand media conference of their film at a Quezon City restaurant, Roderick shared that he accepted the film partly because of his friend.

I won’t deny the fact na iba pa rin ang excitement ko na makasama ko ulit si Marya,” actor Roderick Paulate said.

Nagkikita kami sa mga parties, nagkikita kami sa mga production, but then di pa kami ulit nagkakasama at iba na ngayon. Iba yung edad namin noon,” he added.

Maricel also shared how the enduring chemistry and friendship of the two veteran actors never diminish, even in the face of misunderstandings.

Hindi kasi nagtatagal away namin ni Dick, In minutes tapos na. Parang ano lang nagpunta ka lang sa dentist.” Maricel Soriano said.

Kaming dalawa kasi, pag nagbukas ako kay Dick, makikinig yan, di nakakalimutan niyan. Siya rin magbubukas sa akin, di ko makakalimutan rin. So how can you get mad at one person?” she added.

Also starring in the film are actresses Ruby Ruiz, Maila Gumila, and Ogie Diaz, as well as young stars Elyson de Dios, Vivoree Esclito, Reign Parani, Inah Evans, and Bong Gonzales.

“In His Mother’s Eyes” is the exploration of the challenges faced by modern mothers, particularly those who are Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW), who are separated from their children due to work commitments.
