The Land Transportation Office (LTO) will suspend the issuance of student driver’s permit effective tomorrow, July 1. LTO Chief Edgar Galvante said Monday those who will be getting student permits must undergo a 15-hour theoretical driving course by August wherein rules and regulation in driving will be studied. “Effective July 1, we will be suspending the issuance of student permits because, by August, we will be requiring applicants to go through 15 hours of theoretical session first,” Galvante said. Meanwhile, the LTO will coordinate with some driving schools on where aspiring learners of driving will be referred and enrolled. The policy is pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 2019-2176, which states that the course should be completed within two years from the date of enrollment.   —(Source: Philstar, PTV)
