MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The new crown for the Miss Universe Philippines, also known as La Mer en Majesté Crown, was shown on Tuesday evening, April 19 during the MUPH 2022 Gala Night held at the Hilton Manila, Pasay City.
The creation of the majestic gold crown was made possible in partnership with Jewelmer. The crown features the golden South Sea pearl, the national gemstone of the Philippines.
MUPH describes the crown as “a radiant symbol of the harmonious relationship between man and nature” capturing “the very spirit of the Filipinos.”
Shamsey Supsup, the national director of MUPH and Miss Universe Philippines 2011, and Beatrice Luigi Gomez, Miss Universe Philippines 2021, unveiled the new crown to the guests.
The official Instagram account of the MUPH organization shared a post announcing the new crown.
The most-awaited coronation night for Miss Universe Philippines 2022 is this coming Saturday, April 30, at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The competition for this year has 32 candidates who are competing for the Miss Universe Philippines title. Beatrice will also be the one to crown the winner, which will be her successor.
The upcoming pageant will be a star-studded event, with reigning Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu as a special guest. Past titleholders Pia Wurtzbach (2015), Iris Mittenaere (2016), and Demi-Leigh Tebow (2017) will also serve as hosts.
