The anticipated movie sequels and a new horror film will have their scheduled release in Philippine theaters in June 2022.

Amblin Entertainment and Universal Pictures’ next launching of the Jurassic World franchise, Jurassic World Dominion, will be at the country’s cinemas on June 8. The third film in the sequel picks up four years after the destruction of Isla Nublar, the island that had previously housed the Jurassic World theme park.

The movie shows dinosaurs brought to the mainland, escaped their enclosure, and now live alongside humans. Humans no longer occupy a place at the top of the food chain as dinosaurs armed with sharp claws, fearsome teeth, and a massive appetite roam freely.

Among the film’s returning casts are Chris Pratt as Owen Grady, Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing, Justice Smith as Franklin Webb, BD Wong as Dr. Henry Wu, Omar Sy as Barry Sembenè, and Daniella Pineda playing the role of Dr. Zia Rodriguez.

Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and Jeff Goldblum from the first ‘Jurassic Park film’ and ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ will also be in the upcoming film’s cast.

Meanwhile, The Black Phone’s scheduled release is on June 22.

The story moves around Finney Shaw, a shy but clever 13-year-old boy abducted by a sadistic killer and trapped in a soundproof basement.

Scott Derrickson, known as the writer-director of hit movies The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Sinister, and Marvel’s Doctor Strange, also directed the film that stars Mason Thames as Finney and Ethan Hawke for the killer role.

On a lighter note, ‘The Minions’ marks their return following their previous 2015 movie with the latest upcoming entitled, ‘Minions: The Rise of Gru.’

Set to be in cinemas on June 29, the film features Russell Brand, Steve Carell, Julie Andrews, and Michelle Yeoh’s voices. Their new casts include Jean-Claude Van Damme, Taraji P. Henson, Dolph Lundgren, Danny Trejo, and Lucy Lawless. – WhatALife!
