Julia Barretto Takes Over Bea Alonzo’s Role in Special Memory

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Julia Barreto will be working alongside Alden Richards for the upcoming film “Special Memory.”

Viva Inc. President and CEO Vincent del Rosario III announced on Friday June 2 that Julia Barreto will be working on the project replacing Bea Alonzo.

The movie is an adaptation of a South Korean film called “A Moment to Remember.”

Julia Barreto’s role was originally for Bea Alonzo until the actress decided to not be part of the project anymore due to her already having a full schedule.



Besides the upcoming movie “Special Memory,” Vic del Rosario also announced that Julia Barreto will be having a movie with Aga Muhlach called “Forgetting.”

Rosario and GMA have yet to release more details regarding the other project. On the other hand, “Special Memory” will begin its production in the end of July or August. The director of the film will be Nuel Naval according to Rosario. 

Currently there are no details on Julia Barreto’s other two movies, she is currently promoting her upcoming movie called “Will You Be My Ex?” with actor Diego Loyzada. She plays the role of Chris who gets into a complicated relationship with Diego’s character who is her ex in the film. The film will debut on June 21, 2023. 

After joining Viva, Julia Barretto starred in different films and series with her last movie being “Expensive Candy,” which is her most mature role as of today. 



In an interview with Boy Abunda, Julia’s previous parter Joshua Garcia wanted to reunite with her in a project that was pitched to him. Fans speculated that the project might be “It’s Okay Not to be Okay,” the Philippine adaptation of the Korean series. – WhatALife!/Zain
