Jacob Elordi, known for his role in “Euphoria” and “Saltburn” is currently being investigated by the New South Wales (NSW) police following accusations of assaulting a news reporter.
The 26-year-old actor returned to his home country ahead of the AACTA Awards on the Gold Coast on February 10 but reportedly had a confrontation with a reporter outside a hotel in Sydney, Australia.
The incident unfolded outside the Clovelly Hotel, where Elordi is currently staying. Joshua Fox, a KIIS FM staffer, approached the ‘Euphoria’ star with a series of questions, which reportedly agitated Elordi and led to a heated altercation.
Elordi is accused of assaulting Fox during the incident. The NSW Police issued a statement confirming the investigation, stating, “Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command are investigating after a man was allegedly assaulted outside a hotel in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.”
“Police were told about 3:30 pm on Saturday 3 February 2024, a 32-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by a 26-year-old man,” the statement continued. “The man did not sustain any injuries.”
The name Fox might ring a bell, as he gained recognition for gate-crashing weddings on ‘Married At First Sight,’ documenting the experiences on his social media platforms.
The 26-year-old recently discussed the uncertainty surrounding the start of filming for ‘Euphoria’ Season 3, acknowledging that he has no information on when it will commence.
“I hope [filming is] soon, otherwise they’re going to have to Benjamin Button me or something,” he joked on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’. “I’m going to have, like, a bad back, walking down the hallway.”
Authorities are actively investigating the specifics of the altercation between the two parties. Elordi is presently in Australia for the 13th Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards, where he has received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in “Saltburn.”
