MANILA, Philippines – Islander Philippines responded to a post circulated online about the company’s closure.

The company said in an official statement that “it will not close and will continue to produce high-quality slippers for the Filipinos.”

“The recent post circulating is related to a specific outlet only and does not impact the overall Islander brand,” they added.

As per information from Islander Philippines, customers still have the option to purchase products through Islander’s online stores on Shopee and Lazada. Additionally, Islander slippers can be found at Footstep branches and various department stores.

A recent announcement on the Facebook page “Islander Factory Outlet” revealed that the outlet store will be concluding its operations on January 1, 2024, with a final sale event.

The post expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the Islander journey, including loyal customers, dedicated employees, and supportive families. This announcement has evoked a range of reactions from the online community.

It’s important to note that Islander Footwear Manufacturing Corporation (IFMC) clarified that only the Islander Factory Outlet Store is closing, and this does not signify the closure of the entire company. The announcement specifically pertains to the outlet store, marking the end of an era for that particular branch.

“It’s the Outlet which is closing, the factory is still not operational until now but wala pa mag closed,” IFMC said.
