The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has granted official accreditation to inDrive, a global mobility and urban services platform from the United States.

Before entering the Philippines ride-hailing market, inDrive had already established a strong presence in Southeast Asia, specifically in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. Globally, inDrive operates in over 700 cities across 45 countries.

Setting itself apart from conventional ride-hailing applications, inDrive offers users greater flexibility and control over their ride experience. Passengers have the option to choose their preferred driver, and the reverse is also possible. Upon confirming a ride request, passengers receive a list of available drivers, enabling them to make choices based on preferences such as driver rating, vehicle model, and estimated time of arrival.

Drivers have the flexibility to choose the rides that best suit them. They receive comprehensive ride requests containing information such as fare details, pick-up location, and destination. This allows drivers to accept or decline ride requests without facing any penalties, giving them the autonomy to make choices that align with their financial goals. This approach empowers drivers in their pursuit of earning income..

These are the safety features of inDrive:

  • Real-time sharing of GPS location and ride details with trusted contacts.
  • A dedicated emergency button connecting users directly with law enforcement
  • agencies.
  • A chat function for private communication between passengers and drivers.
  • 24/7 support via in-app chat and email.
  • A stringent driver registration process.

As of now, inDrive activated its application in cities including Bacolod, Baguio, Iloilo City, Cagayan de Oro, and Butuan. The company is currently focusing on efforts to increase their supply with driver recruitment initiatives before officially launching and expanding its services in the Philippines.

Meanwhile, the inDrive application increased more than 175 million downloads and secured the second spot as the most downloaded mobility app in 2022. Aside from ride-hailing, inDrive offers a growing range of urban services, encompassing intercity transportation, freight delivery, task assistance, delivery services, and job searches.
