Vaccine czar confirms arrival of first batch of vaccines for children aged 5-11

Carlito Galvez, Jr. confirmed the arrival of the first batch of COVID-19 vaccines for children of ages 5 to 11 will be on January 31.

1.2 million Pfizer vaccines are expected to arrive at the end of the month, of which 780,000 are set for the children. Vaccination for kids is then planned for February first week.

Galvez further emphasized that Pfizer is the only approved brand and given emergency use authorization for children in the said age bracket.

The Department of Health is also yet to release the guidelines for the pediatric vaccination for kids aged 5 to 11.



Pediatric vaccination for children aged 12 to 17 started also last November 3, 2021.

As of January 21, 2022, the Philippines has 275,364 active cases, with a cumulative of 3,324,478 cases.
