LOS ANGELES, USA — The Sci-Fi movie Everything Everywhere All at Once took most of the top awards in the recently concluded 95th Academy Awards held Sunday night, including Best Picture.

Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, who also produced the film, won Best Directors. They also received the Best Original Screenplay award.

Lead star Michelle Yeoh was awarded Best Actress, making her the first Asian actress ever to claim the award.

“For all the little boys and girls who look like me watching tonight, this is a beacon of hope and possibilities,” Yeoh said in her acceptance speech. “This is proof that dreams dream big and dreams do come true.”



Angela Bassett also marked another first for the ceremony, having become the first actress to receive a nomination for a role in a Marvel film. She was nominated for best supporting actress for her portrayal of Queen Ramonda in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” The movie won Best Costume Design.

“All Quiet on the Western Front” won four early on, mainly in the technical categories. Other awardees for the film were Ke Huy Quan, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Paul Rogers for Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Editing, respectively.

Meanwhile, Brendan Fraser received the Best Actor Award for the movie “The Whale.”
