CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, PHILIPPINES — The DSWD-10 has assured that there will be no repeat of the stampede of the people who will get financial and educational assistance in the ten payout areas of the region.

The new regional director of DSWD-10, Ramel Jamen, revealed that they would accommodate only 3,500 verified beneficiaries in their payout centers.

He said that only those who were sent text messages to their office could legitimately claim the cash aid, and nothing else would be taken care of tomorrow.

Twelve thousand students will be given cash assistance in the region worth 120 million pesos within six Saturdays.

In addition, DILG 10 regional director Arnel Agabe directed the relevant local government units to help in cash payouts of educational assistance to DSWD 10 to ensure order and security.

But Agabe explained that it is forbidden for any barangay official, mayor, or governor to take the lead in distributing cash aid because only DSWD-10 personnel are allowed to do so.

He said that DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos did this to prevent the LGUs officials from benefiting from the financial assistance to the students.

Among those who have cash payout distributions are 300 students in Iligan City and the town of Tubod, Lanao del Norte; Ozamiz City and Oroquieta City in Misamis Occidental with one thousand; 50 thousand in the cities of Valencia, Malaybalay, and Maramag, Bukidnon, 300 in Mambajao in Camiguin; 150 in Gingoog city and 700 in Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental.

Meanwhile, PRO 10 (Police Regional Office 10) assured that there would be no repeat of the crowding of people to get financial aid for the education of their students at different levels.
