DOST-SEI for 2023 Undergraduate Scholarship now OPEN

The DOST-SEI has announced that the applications for the 2023 undergraduate scholarship are now open! Check out how to apply here.

In a recent post on Facebook, the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) declared to the public that it is now open for undergraduate scholars’ applications for the year 2023.

The deadline for application and submission of requirements is on December 2, 2022, while the pen and paper qualifying examinations are on March 11 and 12, 2023, at various testing centers.



Who is eligible to apply for the DOST-SEI undergraduate scholarship?

  • All graduating grade 12 students under STEM class.
  • Non-STEM students included in the Top 5% of the graduating class.
  • All Grade 12 students belonging to STEM class who graduated before SY 2022 to 2023 but have not yet enrolled in college.
  • Non-STEM students included in the Top 5% of the graduating class who graduated before SY 2022 to 2023 but has not yet enrolled in college.
  • Graduates of high school before the K-12 Program included in the Top 5% of the graduating class.
  • Must have grades in Grade 9, 10, and 11 or scores in the Philippine education placement test certificate or rating, if skipped a grade.
  • Must be a natural-born Filipino citizen.
  • Must be of good moral character and in good health.
  • May have taken the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship exam but did not qualify for the scholarship.
  • May have qualified for the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship but did not avail of the award.
  • Must not have warned any post-secondary (college or vocational) units.

What is required for online application for the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship for 2023?

  • A valid and secured email address
  • A working mobile number
  • A stable internet connection

NOTE: Creating multiple accounts is not allowed since it will cause delays. Applicants must also take note and secure their access credentials (application ID and other personal data).

What are the requirements for the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship 2023 online application?

  • Certificate of Good Moral Character (Form C)
  • Certificate of Good Health (Form D)
  • Principal’s Certification 
    • All graduating grade 12 students in STEM class (Form E1)
    • Non-STEM students included in the Top 5% of the graduating class (Form E2)
    • All Grade 12 students belonging to STEM class who graduated before SY 2022 to 2023 but have not yet enrolled in college (Form E3)
    • Non-STEM students included in the Top 5% of the graduating class who graduated before SY 2022 to 2023 but have not yet enrolled in college (Form E4)
    • Graduates of high school before the K-12 Program included in the Top 5% of the graduating class (Form E5)
  • Certificate of Residency (Form F)
  • Parent’s Certification – Applicant has no pending immigration application to another country (Form G)
  • DOST-SEI Scholarship Exam/Award (Form H)
  • Applicant’s Certification of no post-secondary units (Form I)
  • Signed declaration of the applicant and the parent/legal guardian (Form J)
  • Any of the following:
    • Certified copy of permanent student record (Form 137) or report card (form 138) from Grades 9, 10, and 11; or
    • Philippine equivalency placement test certificate of rating; or
    • For Grades 9 and 11: Accreditation and equivalency test and certificate of rating OR presentation portfolio assessment and certificate of completion
    • For Grade 10: Certificate of Completion from ALS Teacher (for ALS completer)
  • Recent Picture, Passport Size
  • Birth Certificate
  • Any of the following:
    • Parent’s/Legal Guardian’s 2021 Income Tax Return (ITR)
    • BIR Form 1701
    • Employment Contract (if OFW)
    • BIR Certificate of Exemption from the filing of ITR
    • Certificate of Indigency
    • Certificate of Employment with Compensation
    • Proof of Pension
  • Notarized affidavit of guardianship

Additional information needed before application

  • Annual Income of each parent or legal guardian
  • If family receives a contribution from an external source, the giver’s name, amount, and purpose of contribution
  • If family owns agricultural land, how many hectares
  • If family owns a vehicle, what type, year, and model

How to apply for the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship for 2023 online?

After compiling all the requirements, proceed to the official website usas.science-scholarships.ph and follow the steps below:

Step 1: Register using a valid email address and verify.

Step 2: Answer Eligibility Module sent via your email.



Step 3: If eligible, answer the following modules and upload documents.

Step 4: Recheck all accomplished modules and uploaded documents before clicking SUBMIT.

Step 5: Select the Test Center Location near you.



When is the qualifying exam?

The pen and paper qualifying exam is scheduled on March 11 to 12, 2023. Applicants will be given a Test Permit to their test center via their registered email sometime between February 27 to March 3, 2023.

NOTE: On the day of the exam, applicants are required to present their vaccination card or negative antigen test result, taken within 48 hours before the exam.

Exam results may be released tentatively on June 2023.
