The long-awaited “The Little Mermaid,” one of Disney’s live-action reimagining of the studio’s Oscar-winning animated classic, has washed up right in front of us now showing in cinemas nationwide.

In the recently released live-action version of a disney classic, The Little Mermaid was just not a retelling movie, but a memorable reworking of its Academy Award-winning 1989 soundtrack, written by Alan Menken and the late lyricist Howard Ashman.

Menken actually came back to work on the soundtrack with another award-winning composer, Lin-Manuel Mirana, who also served as a co-producer of the new movie.

Disney has casted pop singer Halle Bailey who played the role of the iconic character Ariel, the youngest of King Triton’s seven daughters, who was always fascinated by the human world.

Bailey gave a stellar and noteworthy performance enacting one of people’s well-loved tales, especially when she first rendered the track, “Part of Your World.” Her version of the song was released by Disney for people to download for the live action version.

Even when Ariel did not have speaking lines, she was still vibrant in her scenes, especially during the part when she told Eric what her name was, based on the stars.

The iconic Oscar-winning “Under the Sea,” with all the sea creatures in splashy numbers, was a “must see” part of the film.

The film stars Hale Bailey (Ariel), Jonah Hauer-King (Prince Eric), Daveed Diggs (voice of Sebastian), Awkwafina (voice of Scuttle), Jacob Tremblay (voice of Flounder), Noma Dumezweni (Queen Selina), Art Malik (Sir Grimsby), Oscar winner Javier Bardem (King Triton), and two-time Academy Award nominee Melissa McCarthy (Ursula).

The iconic film was directed by Oscar nominee Rob Marshall, and produced by Marc Platt, Lin-Manuel Miranda, John DeLuca, and Rob Marshall, with Jeffrey Silver serving as executive producer.
