The Davao de Oro provincial government has warned the public to be cautious of individuals offering services for a QR Code system in the province, which it has yet to adopt.
In a statement released by Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy, he clarified the province’s QR system was not yet available as they were still developing it.
“There were some who asked about the QR code system in Davao de Oro and we want to announce that the QR code in the province is still being developed,” Uy stated in Bisaya.
He said once the registration for the QR system will be available to the public, they would immediately announce it in the provincial’s official facebook page.
The province will also post updates on the recent developments of the QR system that will be used by the province soon, Uy added.
Earlier, the governor said the province was still in the process of procurement of the hardware and software equipment for its QR code system.
The QR Code System is intended for efficient contact tracing for its constituents, especially in identifying the direct contacts of COVID-19 positive.
Meanwhile, Uy appealed to the public to stay at home if they do not have any essential activities outside because the local transmission cases in their province are surging.
