CDO City Council reiterates Resolution No. 2021-205; wants unauthorized reopening of some establishments stopped

covid-19 restrictions

Following the recent GCQ with Heightened Restrictions status implemented in Cagayan de Oro, the City Council had requested Mayor Oscar Moreno and City’s COVID-19 Task Force to consider stopping the reopening of specific establishments that are not yet legally authorized to operate according to Resolution No. 2021-205.

The following establishments mentioned in the clarification statement include:

  • Internet Cafes
  • Sports Centers
  • Gymnasiums
  • Massage Parlors or Spas
  • White Water Rafting and other Tourism-related Establishments
  • Indoor Fitness Facilities
  • Entertainment Establishments

Details of the clarification can also be viewed on this Facebook post.

This clarification is given in response to some reports that some of the mentioned businesses and service providers have already established reopening dates, despite the fact that the City Council’s proposal is still being reviewed by the City Mayor and the CDO’s COVID-19-response team.

The City Council reminds people that while the reopening of a dynamic local economy is highly desirable, we must balance it with protecting the general public’s health and limiting the spread of the COVID-19 virus. – WhatALife.ph
