BLACKPINK’s Rosé sets K-Pop solo artist record for 24-hour debut on Spotify

Proving that the success of the South Korean girl group BLACKPINK comes from each of its incredibly talented members, Rosé racked up an impressive number of streams on Spotify following the release of her solo debut album ‘R‘.

The main vocalist and lead dancer of the superstar group BLACKPINK dropped her solo album last Friday, March 12, at 2 PM (KST). The album’s title track, “On The Ground,” managed to debut at No. 8 on Spotify’s daily Global Top 50 chart with over 3.3 million streams in the first 24 hours since its release. With this feat, “On The Ground” now officially holds the most-streamed song in 24 hours, released by a solo Korean artist on Spotify.

Moreover, “Gone,” the b-sidetrack on the album, reached No. 11 with more than 2.9 million streams.

Meanwhile, “On The Ground” also reached No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs charts in at least 51 regions, and the song’s music video gained over 39 million views within 24 hours of its premiere on YouTube.



As of writing, the MV has already gained more than 71 million views.
