SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA — BLACKPINK’s agency YG Entertainment announced that Jisoo is currently filming her solo debut music video. The agency also confirmed that the production cost for the MV is the most expensive of all BLACKPINK videos to date.
On February 21, YG Entertainment released a statement confirming the start of production of Jisoo’s first solo MV.
“The music video for Jisoo’s solo track is being filmed entirely overseas in strict secrecy. It is worth anticipating as we invested the highest production cost of all BLACKPINK videos to date,” said the agency.
The music video is reported to be filmed in various locations overseas to show Jisoo’s global appeal.
Jisoo is the last to release a solo debut among the BLACKPINK members. Jennie kickstarted her solo career in 2018, followed by Rosé in 2020, and Lisa in 2021.
At the moment, the girls are in the middle of their “Born Pink” world tour, the world’s largest-scale girl group concert tour. BLACKPINK will also make its way to the Philippines on March 25 and 26 in Philippine Arena.
Jisoo makes history as Vogue France’s first K-pop artist cover star
On February 22, 2023, Vogue France released its March 2023 issue with K-pop megastar Jisso as the cover. This makes Jisoo the first K-pop artist to be featured on the cover of Vogue France.
“Having shot to fame thanks to the brilliant BLACKPINK, one of the most listened-to groups in the world since 2016, she is the perfect cover star. She is daring, vibrant and delicate, yet never fragile,” wrote Eugenie Trochu.
On the cover, Jisoo wears a “crinoline dress in guipure cotton with a floral motif and shorts in ribbed linen, DIOR .”
The Vogue France March 2023 issue will be available on newsstands and online on February 24, 2023.
