MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Vic Rodriguez, the spokesperson for presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., announced on Tuesday that his Facebook account had been suspended.

“My account was suspended by FB (Facebook)/Meta because I am for Bongbong Marcos. This is censorship of the highest degree and interference on a sovereign act,” Rodriguez said.

According to the screenshot, Rodriguez’s account or behaviors violate the social networking site’s community rules.

The notice to Rodriguez stated, “If you believe we suspended your account by mistake, we can take you through a few steps to disagree with the decision.”

He has 30 days to object to Facebook’s decision.

“I will not appeal for I have not violated anything. My duty is to the Filipino people and not to FB/Meta. I will continue to communicate with the many other kinds of media available that are free from any filter, censorship, or manipulation from foreign platform providers,” Rodriguez said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez’s Facebook account is now restored as of writing.
