WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the ITCZ (Intertropical Convergence Zone) is affecting Southern Mindanao, and the Easterlies are affecting the rest of the country. Nonetheless, almost all areas of the country will experience clear skies and fair weather, with isolated showers and thunderstorms.
“Nakakaranas po tayo ng magandang panahon di lamang dito sa Metro Manila, kundi sa iba’t-ibang bahagi ng bansa,” said PAGASA Weather Forecaster Aldczar D. Aurelio.
(We are currently experiencing fair weather not just here in Metro Manila but in various portions of the country)
The ITCZ is a result of the collision of winds between the northern and southern hemispheres. Due to this weather system, Southern Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the Easterlies, the hot winds coming from the Pacific Sea, are affecting a big portion of the country. The affected area can expect generally warm weather with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms.
The Pacific sea is clear, meaning that there are no LPAs (Low-Pressure Areas) or storms that Pagasa is monitoring inside PAR (Philippine Area of Responsibility).
On the other hand, the Amihan, or Northeast Monsoon, is currently in Taiwan. However, by tomorrow, or possibly in the next two to three days, it is expected to affect a big portion of Northern Luzon.
Fortunately, thunderstorm activities are less likely to occur during the time of Amihan.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ and Localized Thunderstorms.
