WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), there will be no tropical cyclone until the weekend. However, a Low-Pressure Area (LPA) may form outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). Its trough may bring rains over Southern Mindanao by Monday.
The weather agency reports that the shear line continues to bring heavy rains over Southern Luzon and Visayas. Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan brings cold weather and light rains over the northern parts of Luzon.
The rest of Visayas and Mindanao are forecast to have fair weather with chances of rain due to localized thunderstorms.
No tropical cyclone is expected until the weekend, the weather agency reports. However, an LPA may form in the cloud clusters spotted southeast of Mindanao outside PAR. The trough or extension of the LPA may bring rains over the eastern portion of Mindanao on Sunday and the whole of Mindanao on Monday.
